I honed my illustration skills with a love of animation and comic art through high school and studied visual communication and design at the University of Nebraska, Kearney. I have been a professional designer and illustrator since 2001, working in Omaha. I am one of the original Be A Design Group authors, and in 2005, with Donovan Beery and Tom Nemitz, we launched the highly popular Be A Design Cast, a bi-weekly podcast for graphic designers. I also served several years as the Education Director for AIGA Nebraska and am currently an Adjunct Professor of Design at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha. My work has appeared in HOW and STEP Inside Design Magazine, the book Fingerprint: The Art of Using Hand-Made Elements in Graphic Design, and pops up on the web from time to time.
